Welcome aboard, if you are towing then a diesel may be the better option for you.
I have towed a few caravans with the V6 and a diesel, the diesel responds better to having something on the towbar in my opinion, also the V6 will drop to 16mpg ish if towing a large van.

Oddly, theres a bloke not far from me with about 10 of these cars in his yard.... Maybe he knows a secret!
VZZ[/QUOTE] Did a double take, but I only have 5, and I am in the East Midlands. The remainder are other classics! I do have a rare SD1 V8S, with only 29,000 on the clock - there is a reason for that - inherited from my father in 1995 and I have never got on with it. Lovely engine, good fuel economy (for its size), but unreliable and build quality of a tin can. He went on to a Jaguar and never used the SD1 again! |

Newbie's 1st post
Hi
I have just joined the club as a new 75 owner (2002 Club SE auto) and subscriber and would like to know what events are being planned nationwide later this year when restrictions hopefully finally get loosened. Will there be any in my area - Yorkshire ? I am very new to the club so maybe you can tell me where I should look on the website.... |

Praised be North Yorkshire a beautiful place. Welcome to the Happy corner. Don't forget the dreaded front 'drop-links. Always replace with a decent pair, otherwise you'll be doing it every few months.

Look in the events and meets section for these . That said there is not much planned for obvious reasons as yet. Local meets are not endorsed by the club as the insurance doesn't cover them but are usually a social thing at a local park that has a cafe for a chat etc. We have regional secs who organise such meets and may also obtain us group admittance to larger venues such as the Fathers Day Rally at Castle Howard The Yorkshire secretary is Actros who is very old and wrinkly and although we call him secretary he looks terrible in a skirt, but he still gets about a lot so watch for a post from him. If you don't mind a trip out then the Midland nano meets are in a class of their own, there is nothing else like them for meeting people and learning how to maintain and repair your car. See here for more info http://www.midlandsnanomeets.co.uk/ This years dates are not confirmed yet and there will only be two or three as opposed to six or seven due to the pandemic.

Welcome to the club.
I am not far away from you in York. The only thing I would say is a V6 Auto been used for towing will use a lot of petrol. I have owned a ZT 180 and been auto was very thirsty. Having said this we have a V6 ZS and it does sound a lot nicer than the diesels. Gary. |
