and the flat ones appear to work better than the original type,no harm in updating especially in the name of safety.

and a third of the price! would you really only spend 3 quid on a pair of wiper blades?

No of course the 75 was not designed in the 60s, but was sold with this type of wiper blade.
They appear to work better? no I dont think so, flat wipers don't work any better than mine, have had them, been there, got the T shirt.
And yes I would only spend £3 on a pair of wipers if they work well. If you don't believe me, as you said only £3, try some and throw away if you dont agree.
Have a look at Aero wipers, they cost less to make than the original type, is this not a case of "wiper blades have not changed in 40 years lets design something cheaper and sell for lots of money"? Dave

OK smart***e! And SWMBO says I'M pedantic..........

Yes I did miss it, although I did wonder why you'd said WIDE screen, not TALL screen, which is where 22" blades might have fouled the frame.

I agree, the Tesco ones are good.

A couple of months ago though, on here someone pointed out they were for LHD cars, as the spoiler/aerofoil shpe was the wrong way round for RHD. The fix was easy, unclip the pivot unit (a how-to was given), turn it through 180 deg, and refit.

I did that, but obviously either I cocked it up, or the clips didn't like being disturbed, because one wet evening one of the blades came from together on the M1, and launched into space, leaving just the (luckily plastic) clip on the arm.

So frankly, my advice would be to leave them the "wrong way round", and if I see them in Tesco again, I will certainly buy more, be they 22" or 22 feet!!!!

Much as this thread pains me, (having paid £19 each for two Aero flat blades from BMS) I have to say that the flat blades on my car do a much much better job than the standard ones that were fitted, and -- they do it SILENTLY!!
