Usual list:
Fit twin horns.
Clean out the screen wash bottle.
Insulate the body weld to stop the headlamps harness chafing.
Inspect the condenser fins. Oh you did that.
Relocate the fan control box.
Replace fan resistor if applicable.

What are you doing with the turbo?
A new CHRA or a complete renewal?
Are you renewing the oil feed?

Default Re turbo

It appears that a cartridge is £180, and complete unit is £280. For aggravation's sake and a hundred quid I may just fit the whole thing. Also it seems that a new oil pipe is required or it invalidates the warranty. Ummm...xenon headlights anyone?

Out of interest, where are you buying it?

And add another £40 - £50 for the pipe. Outrageous really for a 5mm bore pipe with unions.

Default turbo

Been pointed towards 'Midland turbos' by other members. Yep I know the pipe is a lot of money for what is but you know what'll happen.......! Some of the jobs suggested i may not do being of the 'If it aint broke, don't fix it persuasion' but twin horns I may think about. Is there a kit or do you just piggy back another one on?

If you must have OEM fittings, you'll need to find the Lo tone twin to the one you have. Alternatively, there are twin horns available for less than a tenner on eBay. I fitted an extra loud pair and boy do they hoot!

The second horn should be wired in parallel to the existing one using its feed and a separate earth. The power supply for the horns is via a plug connector fastened to the panel near the washer bottle. It's purple/blue striped I think. The wiring runs unerneath the slam panel, which I guess is off the car atm, so a good chance to do it.

Yes, providing you use an independent hosting site like Photobucket to store your images. You then use a link to their location using the tools provided in the posting GUI. There's a HowTo if you don't know what to do.

Drained the oil today, well what there was of it. I think less than a pint dribbled out of the sump! There is a little lever at the back of the 'barrel' on the exhaust manifold (where the turbine bolts onto). Does that move anything inside said barrel? Doesn't appear to, is some broken inside there as well?

Was it full before the incident?

That's the wastegate lever. It should open a flap valve in the turbine housing. This lets exhaust flow bypass the turbine under certain conditions and is controlled by a vacuum diaphragm mounted externally. If the lever is floating free, the turbo won't operate correctly. It may lead to stress on the rotating parts, but I'm unsure of the consequences. Maybe you found one!

If external parts are missing you'll need a new unit complete rather than just the cartridge.

Default Nuts!

Come to a bit of a halt with this. I'm needing the four little flanged serrated M8 nuts that hold the turbo wastegate to the exhaust manifold. Rimmers don't stock them. They have a fine pitch and not coarse and don't seem to be easily available.
