Always keep a good old used one in the spare wheel well Steve, just in case.

Easy enough to change if required.

Anytime you have a problem with not starting after you have had it running, before you buy anything, take the plug off the top of the ubp and put some Vaseline on the electrical connections in the top of the ubp. Replace the plug a couple of times on the pump, taking the slight corrosion off, and then try starting your car again. Happened to me at around 40,000 miles, and was told to get a new ubp. Was given this tip by an RAC or AA man.Pump still on car now at almost 97,000 miles. Costs nothing.

Yes very good idea, i tested three pierburg pumps today that i was sent by a chap whom lets me have any low mileage UBP he as for a fair price, all were very good they will come in useful at this years meets i have no doubt about that

Yes Steve. Still got the brand new one I was told to buy at the time above. It has been in the boot since then and has already travelled over 50,000 miles. No doubt it will come in handy sometime.

If it weren't for the fact that my car has done almost 100k, I would think I had wasted my money! But at least I have a couple of potentially useable pumps in the shed! Jeremy
