No Gera Oil?!?!
Here's a good one,, my garage cannot get the gearbox fluid from the local X-part dealer for 6-8 weeks, if then !!
I had a look at the forum threads and have come up with the following equivalent to JTF403 (for the JF403E box): Texaco N402 ATF 402 Land Rover LNR402 I presume I'll be safe to use any of these? Waiting to hear back from various companies w.r.t. to supply.......... Unless someone knows where I can definitely get some?

Texaco N402
ATF 402 Land Rover LNR402 Only the 402 designation as above is the correct fluid for our JATCO boxes. Don't use anything else. |

Darn it, I've asked the suppliers to look for JTF403E (which apparently is the code for the gearbox!) and one said it should be JTF403...... Have I got them chasing for the wrong thing?

Just had a quick look and Rimmers appear to have plenty in stock - and they are X Part dealers.

MGR part number for the fluid is VYK000040.
If you do a search on http://www.thepart.com/en/search/ plenty of X part dealers have the stuff sitting on their shelves. Not sure if your garage are trying very hard again |

What AMAZES me is that out of ALL of the X-part, BMW & Land Rover dealers in South, Mid & West Wales (including distributors) NOT ONE stocks the auto gear fluid or equivalent, required, which is also needed for a number of their own models!!
The earliest quote on delivery I got was 5 -10 working days, the longest 6-8 weeks!! I spent an hour an a half on the 'phone today resourcing the gear oil, and only one company came back to me, and that was a Land Rover dealer in Aberystwyth. One phone call to Rimmers, and it's on its way..... Q? Don't these other marques require a change of auto gear oil?
