Nice one, it's a cracking camera. I had the HS10....for about 3 days then took it back.
I'd bought it to replace my Canon SX1 and just couldn't get used to the zoom ring, as I shoot a lot of macro video the simple task of holding the lens to rotate it sent so much blur through the image it meant most of my videos were unusable. In the end I took it back and paid the extra for the newly released SX30 IS which is my all day camera. |

The Fuji has had good reviews. Does it have remote and how does it power up ? Can it handle RAW?

One of the most important issues for me from the days when I had a bridge camera was the shutter lag. I wonder how they are now in this respect.

Phil, If you are thinking of going down the bridge camera route give this one a look. Also you can find many more reviews for other cameras on the site.

Thanks Paul for the link. I expect I will find the answers from there about your Fuji Stephen. No worries. I picked up 'What digital camera' and will also try out their camera selector. Your Fuji I apologise Stephen did not have good reviews....they had great reviews! I mentioned on another thread elsewhere how I took some snaps of the wife being chased by a Croc. I also used the on-board video on the Nikon to capture the Croc moving and what with the lack of image stability and the slow auto-focus, the end result was very poor. As a consumer, maybe I am expecting too much.

A bridge camera is a step inbetween your "campact" cameras and a DSLR - it "bridges the gap" basically it looks like a DSLR, but the lens is fixed to the body.

lots better, than they used to be, most have CMOS chips now to cope with video. Use a Nikon D80 myself (no Video), with 18-135 and a 70-300 lens. Saving up for 12-24, although hired a 18-200vrII recently and liked that a lot
