Default Police ignore

Three times in the last month or so I have reported to Taunton police of people on the phone with reg no and exact time. You can file a complaint on-line. They have come back to me and said "no police officer was present so we can't prosecute." I said please just give them a ring - easy to trace - that would prob be sufficient to deter most. But answer came there none.

Ray, I think you post post may explain something I have noticed.

Over the past couple of years there have been a few occasions when oncoming traffic has been on my side of the road, particularly around bends, and I have had to brake and slow down until the oncoming driver has pulled over fully onto their side.

I had never experienced this before a couple of years - I wonder if if they were texting and it is becoming an increasing trend?

You'd hope that very lengthy bans would put a stop to this - some drivers just don't appear to understand that driving a ton of metal at speed in a dangerous way is not ok

Must get a dash cam sorted pronto, often feels like I'm living on borrowed time when driving around my area

Take the reg and report them to Yodel, or just put it up on Facebook and somebody will get back to you as they are now employing people to trawl through all social media and watch for derogatory comments about the company I'll bet they're busy then

I am a HGV driver and the amount of prof drivers i see texting while driving is unbelievable. If they are caught they should lose there job. I drive a 44tonne killing machine for a living and wouldn,t dream of putting other peoples lives in danger. Safety is more important than a mobile phone imo.

Default Update

I had a visit from the police this morning,

And having looked at the video footage they have taken a copy, and said they will go for a prosecution.

Just goes to show Ray the value in having an on board camera, by the way which one do you have ?.

Gus,

I have the B40 A118 wedge camera, It is a very good day time camera but not so hot in the dark.

I was thinking about the Mini 0806. I think having a dash cam makes good sense these days.

The police can and do prosecute, based upon video evidence. I had an issue last June on the M62 and the police followed it up, based entirely on my car cam's video and audio evidence.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
