Tony stated to me in the email that they do exhausts for Mg Rover.

Alan your car sounds very nice so I'd expect my 190 to sound even better.

Pab let me know if you go to see him and let me know how you get on before I book in and could end up paying a little too much if a discount can be sorted.

I had my 190 done there a couple of years ago. I took the 'quiet' option and to be honest it was still louder than normal but still tolerable with no booming on the motorway. Very similar sound to what you get on a modern Golf GTi and really quite nice. The sport option would have been a bit too much for my liking.

I also had to get him to custom make the tailpipes with two single pipes from an old mini because all the other options are a bit.......'Barry boy', shall we say. My heart sunk when I went in and the only options they had were massive ovals or 4" rounds, they looked ****.

Anyway, I was very happy with it.

Well I popped over earlier and had a chat with a very pleasant guy. I mentioned the fact that his business had been discussed, and about half a dozen owners would be interested in one of his systems.

The best price he can do is £120.00 for a back box. 10 year guarantee and any sound you like. The tail pipes are an option for ovals or larger bore twin pipes. He can manufacture the tail pipes in the same diameter and stepped design as OEM in stainless steel opposed to chrome. The tail pipes are unfortunately a small extra cost depending on choice.

Full Cat back systems are £249.00 and can incorporate extra boxes to suit the sound you desire.

He will also cater for 75 owners and can manufacture the pipes pointed downward to the original bumper line.

Give the guy a ring to book an appointment and quote me and the price given.

Ah now something is just not right here because he also quoted on a 10 year guarantee for me and the prices were £109 for a backbox and £209 for a cat back system.

Obviously they are just making up prices depending on what day of the week it is

Dear Ian,

We are the people to supply and fit a Stainless Steel Exhaust to your MGZT . All our systems come with a LIFETIME GUARANTEE so it is fit and forget. The combination of the quality grade stainless that we use (T304) and the free flow system will transform the vehicle. We specialise in MG Rover and supply our system to JCT600 motors Leeds.

The cost for a custom built T304 stainless system from the catalytic converter to rear, together with a polished tail pipe would be £249 or £129 for a back box and is guaranteed for life. We also offer a ten year guarantee stainless system for the more economical price of £209 and £109.

This system comes with a round or oval, 2 inch to 5 inch rolled in, or rolled out round oval and jap style polished tailpipe. We also have over 87 other tail pipe designs to choose from if you fancy something designer, such as ovals, twins, and letterbox styles. Unlike other fabricators our tail pipes are not pre welded to the rear silencer which gives you the ultimate flexibility in your choice of style of tail pipe and also allows you to choose the sound that you want from the car.

Hand-building and fitting your custom made system takes approximately 3 hours by appointment at our Leeds centre. We have a courtesy vehicle which you are quite welcome to use so that you can nip off and do other things whilst we attend to your car.

Because all of our systems are custom built, you are able to tell us how you would like the car to sound, anywhere from quiet to full sport. The most popular choice is Mild Sport, which gives a slight note when you open the accelerator, yet without being intrusive.

The benefits of a Longlife Stainless Steel Exhaust include improved engine performance and greater fuel economy. This is achieved by fabricating all our exhaust systems on a full free flow principle which means that your engine operates more efficiently. You will immediately notice an increase in BHP and MPG and the car will have more torque making it more responsive at bottom end revs.

When you arrive, before work commences, you will be talked through the system design and fitment. You will also be given a choice of sound, from quiet to sporty, or somewhere in between. We can also ‘offer up’ a selection of tail pipe designs to your car to help you make your choice.

After our work is completed the exhaust will undergo a thorough 12 point quality check, to make sure it is clean, there are no leaks, and the fit is perfect, it will then be tested for sound. Don't forget our exhausts are guaranteed for life, so you can truly fit it and forget it.

Perhaps best to phone them with your needs, mention the price he gave me. I could have driven out of there with a back box for £120.00 today.
