With regard to the hacksaw. These units are also designed to also fit BMW E46 cars and they have plastic locating ears either side of the radio. This is the same for the Naval1 and also Dynavin units, these have to be cut off to enable fitting in our cars. The plastic trim is not seen as it fits behind the dashboard when installed
