Im not as left as you might think, im just a different sort of right. I believe in helping those that cannot help themselves. Those that can but wont should try harder.

Using that line of thought, if taking one aspirin is good for you so why not take the whole bottle. It must do you the world of good

So why can't you justify borrowing even more money to give away then?

Because you dont understand how it works. None of it is borrowed. Like a company there are different budgets for different things from different pools.

If this Country was running a surplus, had no debts and World Class Infrastructure, I would whole heartedly agree with you!

But as we are £1 Trillion in debt, borrowing even more money to give away, that you're Grand children will still be paying off, doesn't make any sense and neither of you will convince me other wise!

When you are in deficit, it's just like being Mrs Coltart in her Council flat in Deptford. She's over her limit at the Nat West, where apart from it presently having cancer of the computer, all her cards are maxed out.

She has to either give an IOU to a better off neighbour with probably an informal arrangement for re-payment, or commit financial suicide with Wonga.com at 4219% apr (see Greece).

Until she either earns enough. or her link to benefit is restored to repay her deficit -she's in debt.

Even if she decides to put 1£ in the pot to 'Save the Children' she's still had to borrow it in the first place.

No amount of 'quantitive easing' or bond issues will alter that dimension for countries either - negative is negative, the more you borrow the deeper in the red you go, no matter what you spend it on.

So we aren't a £1 Trillion in debt then and borrowing £100 Million a day just to make ends meet then?

No, the £1T isnt a debt like you or i have. Debt makes the world go round, we will never have to actually pay real money back despite what certain media outlets claim. They only tell you half the story, because it sells. Its no different to the billions we 'injected' into the economy as 'quantitative easing'. Its not real money, there wasn't billions sat in a bank waiting to be spent. Most of our 'creditors' dont WANT the money back, and they are taxed on every penny any government or company repays. Its all circular.

The whole exercise is just a complicated way to get money from us and give it to the rich. If we had no debt they would find another way.
