Thanks Both . That was indeed what I call being helpful . The filter is back in the tank and it can stay there ( hopefully !!! ).

Well, having just read through this thread with intrigue I'll be VERY interested to know what's fitted to my 2001 ZT. Having bought and orange clip with the intent of fitting it one day. Maybe a job for the weekend. Fuel tank is running on "red light on" mode so fuel level is ideal for fetling with.
If I get round to pulling it apart I'll let you know what filter my car has along with details of the VIN data. |

Orange clip
Has anyone got a photo of the Orange clip actually fitted? I have the clip but I was expecting a metal jubilee type clip.

Orange clip in situ pic originally posted by Lates somewhere sometime.
I just kept a copy and know where to find it when necessary, and any more lip I'll set the Kandyman on yer. |

Well I finally got around to checking my filter, but it looks like I have the earlier type of filter the same as Chris75 as well, so I guess I don’t need the orange clip thingy either. Its part number is WGS100031
The top of the filter is identical to the photo submitted by Chris75 so it will now stay exactly where it is without being disturbed. For the record my VIN is RJZLLMXM106629 Thanks and welldone everyone for the great information. You have saved me considerable aggravation and the usual skinned knuckles by not having to get the filter out to check.

Gents if any of you could oblige what I would like are top down in situ photos of both types nice and clear 800x600 min please
Hopefully the two look different from the top or at least different enough to recognise the two types as I can see this cropping up occasionally and we could do with an easy way of helping people identify what they have just by lifting the seat, also if there is any writing, numbers etc try to include those as well |
