To be accurate, the diesel stats never fail open. They simply start opening too early. So, with an in-line stat fitted, the original stat is still opening and closing, albeit 'ahead' of the in-line one. It does present some interesting theoretical scenarios - that I can't quite think of right now.

Temperature gauge
Reading this thread (and others) about picking out the built in diagnostic data from the IPK, makes me wonder if there's a way to make this appear on the ipk screen for those of us lucky enough to have a message centre. Philt4 very kindly made the speed readout available on the little 'app' he posted recently. Could this be repurposed to provide instant temp and or battery voltage?
I'd pay good currency for that. Sorry if thats been asked and answered before; and I'm sure its not as easy as it sounds! Jim |
