Now everyone is clear that it is indeed a business and not a club to support it members then many of us can, and will decide if this business is something we want to continue to fund.as it has been said, we don't need to pay a tenner as we can remain in here for free so I think this is the way forward for those of us who don't agree with how this business is being run .

Rich mate wake up smell the coffee what you said is true and should work, but and its a big BUT if half the paying members decided to do that do you think this place would still be here. Its been made quite clear by the owner its not a club its a business, and as all businesses run at a loss the get closed down. So I agree with your comments but in the real world it wont ever happen. The time this place is not making a profit it will be the end for the oc.

Which bit do you need reassuring?

Seems a lot of fuss for a tenner.

My view on this, for what it's worth...
You have been a leading contributer to this forum (I won't call it a club) and it would be a sad day for the forum if you left.
I don't see why you cannot continue on the forum in a non paying capacity, just like I will be doing when my subscription runs out.
It all depends on how strongly you feel about the obvious misuse of people's subscription fee. When Christopher first posted about the Spanish dogs, I had to check it wasn't April the 1st. I say this because when I read certain posts about the 'forum' not supporting regional meets and members having to dip into there own pockets, just like I will be doing for the Sherwood meet for signage, Marshalls etc in order to keep the interest and enthusiasm going for these cars. We can all rest in the safe knowledge that a few dogs will be laid on a beach sipping sangria and eating paella. It beggars belief quite frankly, but you know what...? It will not change, so either put up or shut up like we have been told time and time again, it's Christophers business, end of.
I like the forum, but only because of certain members in it, the way things are run and the lack of interest in preserving the interest in these cars has convinced me never to pay my subs again.

If the owner is making charitable donations, I suspect the end is not in sight just yet.

I have to say, ,whether it goes on dogs, charity, insurance, running the site, buying West Ham another striker, the Wheeltappers and shunters Social club or the Tooting Popular Front, based on what I get out of the club it's the best 3 pence a day I'll ever spend.
And PAB,I know you contribute a lot more in help than what you get out,but other than saving a tenner, what have you got to gain by not renewing?

Well I for one would miss you if you went - we've had some good discussions in the past. I vote stay, either paid or not.

Personally, I was always happy to pay (was a 'red' before being a trader) as I've had so much help on here. I'm not too fussed where the money goes, really - I'm just grateful for the advice given, and of course from the support of members in the running of the Shop.
