Made various trips to the tip to dispose of dozens of IPK's, wheels, about 40 ECU's seats, and other assorted clutter.

A couple of TestBook 1 units, which I can't be bothered to look at went the journey

About a dozen doorcards left to go, and any other Rover junk I can lay my hands on.

The life laundry continues

Fitted a Bini Handbrake cable and equaliser, same dimensions as original but no compensator to stretch.

Sadly you have to buy the entire mech, even from a breakers, prices vary from around £16-£35. But it's an alternative. It's a little fiddly to do, more work than the straight compensator swap, but fitting this took me about 20mins extra I'd say. I'd post a photo but not allowed to.

Hope this helps folks.

Well finished my maintenance and inspection of the car. Plus giving it a wash and

Checked steering and had a closer look of the braking system as well.
Plenty of spraying and copper grease yet again.

Love doing this sort of work.

Once the carriers are here I can get them on

Thanks for the offer mate, but after buying a bigger battery my battery cover won't go on at all sadly

Tried and if I did carry on I would have broken it.

But thanks for the offer tho.

Excellent, at last an alternative the the dreadful Rover set up.

It makes you wonder about if the R&D department knew about the shortcomings of the type of compensator used on R40.

Thanks for the link

My thoughts exactly I've asked Mat to see if he can source just the cable and equaliser, he's on the case, but even at that price for the whole lot it's a worthwhile consideration.
