Poor Phil what a lot of stick you're getting.
However, realisticially, you ALWAYS lose money on cars, unless it's a porsche boxster or whatever. You'll lose money when you sell this car, then you'll have to finance the next. As soon as you put the keys in the ignition you'll be in negative equity. Is there something you're not telling us? You don't have to tell us it's your business, but what you're proposing doens't make financial sense. Unless you think you're unlikely to get the finance for a kitchen, there's absolutely no piont in selling your car to pay for it! If you go to B&Q or somewhere like that you'll more that likely be accepted for finance, plus you'll get in interest free. You WON'T get a car loan interest free, you know that, so in the long run a new car is going to cost you a lot more than a kitchen. Honestly, do your research, get your gf to do her research, is she pressuring you to sell the car? You could probably also get a buyn now pay later with the kitchen.

Okay, I've resisted long enough If you sell that car to buy a kitchen, you're mental! Plus, how about just hanging new doors? I did it myself in a house that we bought 4 or 5 years ago - The house was built in '79 and the kitchen was original :Urgh: Anyway, £350 on new doors for the cupboards, £130 or so on a new piece of worktop from B&Q (which they cut to your exact size specs for free) and I fitted it all myself. You'd be amazed what a change it made, it looked like a different kitchen! The carcasses are all the same anyway, so why not re-use them! Less than £500 and a sunday afternoon is all it cost me - Might be worth considering, after all, WAGs are always telling us to compromise

Sorry, but What bad timing and Planning to purchase a new Kitchen.
Nearly all the Half Price offers have now finished, so you will be paying double for no reason at all. Unless you are spending many thousands of Pounds for proper wood and Marble top, self closers etc they will be cheap and nasty (to make) chipboard affairs without sight of any wood. Your original old cupboards are most probably better made. Finance on a Kitchen even now is cheap, but you would have lost about 20% upward on that lovely car already and you WONT ever be able to replace her. Sorry the choice is obvious, Keep car and purchase new Kitchen on finance if monies low Keep Car and Refurbish old Kitchen Keep Car and er...........change the Girlfriend/Wife.
