Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree.......
I am not trying to be a spoilsport here, but I have not spoken to the venue to agree that any work would be carried out on cars whilst on their site... I dont think its been done before here, but someone may correct me

As this is the first meet I have arranged at the F&W I would prefer that no works were carried out TBH... This would give me the chance to meet Mark at the F&W and sound him out about the possibillity of it happening at another meet

Ed,

does your T4 require a mains supply or is it capable of being cordless ? I know the laptop batteries can run down quite quickly on some

Not a spoilsport at all, well not in my case... To be honest I thought that this might be the case, hence my trepidation in asking.....

Pete plenty of batteries, so we can go somewhere away from the F&W. Mostly it will be just sitting in the car.

Ok mate....

Well bring it along... If it means you have to find somewhere nearby to do it then fair enough...

I just did not want to upset our host's... As long as we are not treading on any traders toe's then all should be well...

No that is NOT TRUE. The only way to guarantee a table is to book one, however, in all the time we have been having meets there, only once have they been SO busy that a few people did not get food. Obviously in the winter the outside tables do not get used which puts more pressure on the inside. I have never booked and have always eaten, but at the end of the day you decide whether you want to risk it. The owners have always supported these meets 100%

Hi Steve...

Thanks for the clarification... I read the original post incorrectly.... I di dnot mean to agree that they Won't serve you.. I was meaning that they can get busy and not be able to serve you....

So guy's, I will emphasise once more... BOOK your table using the email given in post 1...

Well, I'm afraid it IS TRUE, and I resent the inference that I am indeed lying sir, as I was there for the last 'Meet' and everyone that wanted food that hadn't booked were turned away! There was quite a big complaint about it, which again I heard with my own ears - not second-hand! I even know of some that went elsewhere just to eat.

For me it didn't matter as I didn't want to eat, so it's not like I have an 'axe' to grind..... And likewise when I go this time, as I always have a hearty breakfast before I leave.

But let it be noted that this didn't detract from a most enjoyable day had by all!

So whether you book or not - that's your choice....

Have to agree, after having kept quiet about this thus far.
I had phoned ahead and "booked" a table outside. My wife was curtly turned away at 12 O'Clock and I was even more curtly turned away by managment. My wife will not go back there mainly due to their "what would you like us to do about it " attitude. Having a captive clientèle on an annual basis should count for something in this day and age, but apparently not.

We ended up walking down the road and had a very pleasant meal in the pub down the road (an ex lone hill resident by the way Mangoman).

This being said, I probably Will try and attend as it is the cars and the people that are the important part for me, and the meet is always a good one from that point of view. Now forewarned there is always the Tesco sandwich option.
