Ambient lighting is subtle though yours look bright enough to illuminate the interior Are you sure it is safe to drive at night with lights that bright on?

Or is it you pictures making it look brighter as my ambient light is virtually impossible to photograph!!

I realy like what you have done but imho it is to bright.

Hiya. Ambient light it something that comes from all directions as opposed to a directional source.... . Do you really think that these are any brighter than your dash lights.? Also, are they not in the door panels.? I do not know about you, but I like to keep my eyes on the road when iI am driving..

Not sure if you mean mine that I posted earlier or Starman's but mine are as I stated straight out of BMW so obviously will not present any danger as regards light level. All they do is bathe the centre console in an orange glow like they did in the BMW.

Starman's seem to me to be fine and I don't think they'd distract from driving; just to compare I've sat in a new Jag XJ at work when it's been dark and the door pockets actually glow magenta, and there's white ambient lighting on top of the glovebox, and even around the air vents - you'd think it would be distracting but it isn't in the slightest. I think as long as you haven't got these things shining directly in your eye and it's not too bright then there isn't a problem.

Hi Ed. I did enhance the photos a bit. They look very bright and unnatural purely for posting. Otherwise the limitations of the iPhone ment all you got was dark noisy pics of a blurry "something".
In reality they are more subtly and have a dark orange hue.
The front ones I kept below the switch pack so it prevented too much light. But saying that. It's not that bright tbh.

A veritable point though Ed.

Regards. Steve.

Love this mod...
That's the 'problem' with this group....just when you think there isn't anything else to do to the car.......up pops a new great idea...
I reckon I could attempt this one....
Not sure about fitting the door puddle lights though...

the problem with these led's, they are very delicate, i used a drop of hot glue to hold in place. i am very pleased with the results, very hard to photograph though

Morning. And what a wonderful one at that.

I'm glad you like it Becs and like you I see something in the forum and say "nah"... Then it stews on the back burner for a while, then there's that day when you just have to give in lol.

BBM. I'd like to see what result you got with 2 LEDs in the front. I did think of doing that but stayed at 1. As you say it's a pain trying to photograph them.

Theres always someone gotta do better lol

Seriously though I'm glad you enjoy this ambient/mood/pretty(SWMBO) light mod.

And if it doesn't work for you then they unplug in seconds

My best. Steve.

I have ordered a set....
Just thinking....wonder what they would look like under the lip by the DD unit, gently illuminating the central dash....mmmm.
Note to self....must get out more and spend less time here...
