well all sorted....tried Ccleaner, (Used it for years infact) didn't touch it.

Just need BT to sort out the mail server and I'll be fully back on line

Now you have it sorted, put a copy of "ghost" on a floppy disk, then using ghost, make a file copy of your "C" drive on any other drive you have, so that if this happens again, you can load the floppy and overwrite your "C" drive with the file saved on your other disk..

Not advisable, many Viruses save themselves in to the System Restore information. You run System Restore and BAM you're infected again.

At any time you get infected, it is always a safer option to disable System Restore. In fact I don't even have it switched on ever, I use a Back Up program that does pretty much the same thing from Norton / Symantec.

Much safer.
