Did that when I was younger and dafter. I remember the days when I could go out with my mates and kill 8 or 9 pints, had 2 with that Chinese meal the other week, couldn't take any more. I rarely drink these days, take it or leave it. Wine I can handle but have to admit if I fancy a drink in the house my drink of choice is Saki IT'S MINE, doesn't come out when we have guests

YES - I'LL HAVE A COUPLE OF BOTTLES OF BULMERS, THATCHERS OR MAGNERS over ice please - 'cos I don't have to get up at any sort of reasonable time in the morning

Gone are the days when we used to drink 'til past midnight on Saturday - put a bottle of Newcastle Brown in the fridge to have for breakfast - go and play Sunday League football - back in the pub for a couple more, and then home for Sunday lunch at about 2.30
I can't believe my wife has stayed married to me for 40 years

Few years ago now we had our now legendary barbecue. Friends were coming, neighbours joined us after being at a family wedding doo, we even have a photo of one of our neighbours sound asleep in our bathroom! It started on a glorious summer Saturday afternoon and lasted 12-14 hours! I had a bottle of beer putting the gazebo up early afternoon, 4am the following morning after who knows how much beer, wife's cocktails and God knows what else, with the "real dinkers" still going I decided I'd had enough and fell upstairs! It is possible to fall upstairs, I proved it that morning. I got up again after a few hours in bed, one of the "real drinkers" was quite happily wandering around tidying up the back garden after a couple of hours sleep on our lounge floor but me . . . . oh man anything over and above breathing was a challenge.

I did once see a lad drink 13 bottles of Newkie Brown on a minibus, returning from a football playing weekend trip to Great Yarmouth.
The previous day he had to be carried off the pitch just before the game started 'cos he collapsed in the centre circle whilst waiting for the ref to start the game - the result of heaven knows how many ales the previous evening. I wasn't so bad - being the goalkeeper meant I didn't have to run around so much

Nowadays, the concern is not the bad head after excess ale - its the wear and tear on your legs (and the landing carpet) from constant visits to the loo
