Well as I'd washed the 45 and seen there was actually silver under all of the grime, I did likewise with the ZT.

Striking a blow for the mechanically inept everywhere, I thought I'd try out this cat litter in a sock idea to do away with condensation. IMG_20160124_135205.jpg

Well today started by sorting out all the parts on the garage shelves, and searching for the real wood dash, wiper blades and a smokestone steering wheel, a 10 minute job that lasted 90 minutes

So what I then did to the Rover 75 (Mrs C's car not mine) Removed the driver's seat to trace the airbag fault and lo and behold the wire was cut cleanly (whoever did it then proceeded to remove the fuse to extinguish the fault light on the dash) so my son with his soldering skills re-joined the wires and the airbag fault is now clear.

Next I removed the post project three piece plastic effect walnut dash and fitted it with a pre-project walnut dash, much nicer.

Finally removed the steering wheel that was in a poor state after been dyed by a well known dye.... that was simply peeling, and replaced with a good clean wheel.

Oh and done a deal with Tom for a fuel sensor (so that's the next job) Just need a fully working radiator fan now if anyone has one ... MK1 75 1.8Turbo

Then a quick wash & polish.

Went for a drive with the other half and youngest step daughter, singing along to Queen.
Later replaced the fuel filter.

Oil & filter change completed on my ZT

Service indicator said I was 15000miles overdue ... I wasn't, I just haven't had a chance to get it reset

Then it wouldn't start

Mrs & Master B couldn't push it fast enough but luckily someone was around near my storage unit (avoiding oil on the drive!) able to help me with a 'jump'. Hopefully the battery was just flat from too many starts with very little running today...

This winter maximum I seen was -17C, but few years ago I seen -29C and the car started ok
It's really cold at -15C - -20C in our country, because the winters are wet (the humidity is high) and you feel the cold very well. Russians from Siberia do not like such weather and they feel their winters warmer even that in Siberia is -30C or more because they have dry winters with low humidity.
