That was an exciting start to the race
Now got time for a quick comfort break
Afternoon Stu, sounds like you were doing your own version of the British Grand Prix

At some stage in your journey between Whitby & Scarborough you would drive past The Flask Inn - they used to serve the best breakfast fry-ups know to man. In our rallying days (Saturday nights on the North Yorkshire Moors) we always arranged for events to finish there - fill up on grease and fat and then home for a few hours' sleep
I remember seeing that pub Rod one to note in future.

Tell me you didn't eat all that pizza and garlic bread Jeff. Forgot about the start of the F1. Sounds like it was a interesting start

Humid day today Freddie. Glad you enjoyed it. Stu will be liking those busses

I have just been chillaxing and teaching Flo (Sara's cat) how to hunt and 1001 ways to have fun with an large empty coke holder box

The start, or just after it, was a testament to how strong F1 cars are now. Raikkonen was well down the grid due to poor qualifying, he was forced into the run off area a couple of corners in, unfortunately the point he chose to rejoin the track wasn't level, that destabilised the car, he lost it and speared nose first into a steel safety barrier destroying the car. What was left of the Ferrari spun across the track, Massa took instinctive evasive action but clipped the rear wheel which ended his (200th) race early.

The race was red flagged, Raikkonen was helped away by medical staff, thankfully an examination revealed nothing worse than bruising to his legs. The race didn't resume til they'd replaced the damaged barrier, an hour later!

Good evening Rod, I just had a look at The Flask Inn website and it would be quite something to stay there, as it is also a holiday park with holiday homes of a high standard, one downside and that is because the decor is so plush, they do not except dogs. The first week in Sept is £370 and for the second week is £360. Winter rates are in the 200's Sat - Sat. Or there is a stay at the pub for £140 for 2 nights for 2 people B&B, the bedrooms equally luxurious ....I have book marked it Jessica has given it the thumbs up
