Hi Tom,
It's even closer than that, fifty minutes drive away without breaking any laws Sir

I would like to suggest that if you we're prepared to loan me an sd card with some music on it that you know works in these units, that would prove beyond any doubt whether the fault is in my head unit. This could possibly negate the need to return the unit for repair, with all the inconvenience that goes with that option.
Best regards
Tom.
I can do that no problem for you Tom.
I can also check that it is working this end on a head unit before dispatch.
If you would like to Pm me your details I can post out tomorrow for you

Just reconnected the battery after a 4.5 hour reset and things remain unchanged.

Hi Sean,
No I haven't tried Bluetooth streaming, not sure I would know how to do that.
Having purchased a unit with sd card, USB and DVD inputs I didn't see the need to use Bluetooth on the phone for anything other than making and receiving calls.
I'll just wait and see the result of the card Jeff is sending.
Best regards
Tom.

Hi Jeff/Sean,
Thanks very much for the swift service with the micro sd card Jeff, it arrived half an hour ago.
Unfortunately, it is doing exactly the same as my card, recognises the card and just puts a blank table up.
Just to add to the evidence a friend just came round and loaned me a usb stick that plays fine in his Symphony head unit but didn't work in mine.
Unless either of you have any other suggestions, I think we must conclude that it is a faulty head unit.
Best regards
Tom

Hi Sean,
I have just had a long chat with Jeff on the phone and we have concluded, as I am sure you will have, that it is a service job.
I will be going to Southend on Sea on 5th September and have agreed with Jeff that, as long as you sanction the idea, I will nip up to see him at Clacton on Friday the 6th for him to take a look at it and do whatever is necessary.
I hope this idea meets with your approval.
Best regards
Tom

Some manuals with trouble shooting section would be a good idea with these units, cos lets face it they aint cheap! I got rid of my one just had to many issues with it and went back to the BMW system. Not having a pop at sean he does what he can do but they should come with good manuals.
