Default Good

That looks good. Has the advantage of an outboard so can be easily fixed if it ever needs it. Boat generally looks very good condition indeed.
I am a firm believer that you shoukd buy the very best ( condition) boat that you can afford.

Looks perfect Jeff. Viking owners in my marina are very pleased with them - wider beam as well which makes it much more comfortable.
Higher initial cost will soon be offset by lower maintenance costs on a newer boat.

I like the spec and notice it has a windscreen wiper, a useful accessory for those wet moments, but not so useful if it has to be hand operated For £16,000 I wonder if the owner will throw in some extras, life jackets etc Our only experience is lifeboat duty on Lake Naivasha when the novices are learning to sail or having a week on the broads in a narrow boat.

The boat looks small to me Jeff, but is okay I guess if it's just for 2 6 years is not very old. Take your Dad or bro with you for the inspection and test drive.

Will you be able to cut your hours down enough to be able to get away and enjoy it?

Hi Chris,

I have sent the owner an email and text and just waiting on his reply.
Thanks for the PM as well and I will keep you posted on how we get on

Hi Mike,

What you lose in length you make up for in girth

I've joined the Viking boats online forum and what I also like is that it is a current model and they are only built a few miles down the road from me in Essex as well.
Spares and upgrades and stuff like seat re trimming all pretty much on our door step

Hi Phil,

The plan is to have it as a weekend retreat which will be only an hour and a half to drive out to the mooring and then potter around on the days I'm not working.
Hopefully in the future we will have more time still to further enjoy some breaks.

The thing with the size is for two people I reckon just about right.
It's a comfortable two birth with occasional four birth capabilities .
As you pay per foot in length for moorings and avarage price seems to be £40 per foot then this will be £160 per year cheaper than the Atlanta 24 to moor

It will be Ros and I going to look as it will be for us, Dad knows about submarines and large vessels but not a lot else and my brother knows nothing
It's my Dad's brother who is the keen sailor, the one who lives on the Isle of Wight and South Africa

Have just got off the phone from the owner of the Viking 20.
Lovely chap and very helpful.

He and his Wife have had the boat from new and they are selling so he can fund a Yacht share which is his main passion.

We are going up to meet him and view the boat this afternoon so wish us luck

Well done Jeff!!

Once you have installed the mega sound system, will there be some sparkling deals for members, on here, to hire?
