It's looking good. My problem is that I need am radio functions. I'm thinking maybe something that hangs off of the bottom of the eyebrow covering the radio but can than be folded upwards when you need to access the radio buttons.

The next step in my adventure with this Nexus 7 is to get it to connect to the car audio via bluetooth. I have ordered a lead that will give me audio in, to the car system. I now need a bluetooth receiver to plug into the new lead. I have read that the Nexus supports A2DP bluetooth.

Does anyone know of a good low cost bluetooth receiver that will do the job?

Edit:

Maybe something like this?

Thanks Jeff, I was hoping for something a bit cheaper. You may have picked up this recurring theme in my life.

Not a bad trait really,
Can't comment on the cheaper ones as I've never tried them

I would add it is through neccesity and not tightness.

Default Simple way to mount Nexus 7 on dash

Evenin' all...

Well, I've had a bit of a brainwave today...

I've been wanting to mount my android phone in my car for ages... last thought was to cut a "well" into the drivers sun visor, and put the phone in there... even has power from the vanity mirror connectors.

(Useful thought if anyone else wants to do that, rather than screen mount etc).

Any hoo...

Moved on that to my Nexus 7.

Was reading this post and watching vids on youtube... everything from pre-fabing your own dash componants and dismantling the dash (which look great - but not something I could do) to the mounts shown in this thread - which I was leaning towards.

Anyway, that got my thinking about slipping something into the gaps between the aircon controls and the head unit.

Remembered theres a 1/2 inch gap between the top of the head unit and the dash - behind the "eyebrow".

When I fitted my cd-stereo box for an aux out, I'd not screwed the eyebrow in, so it was just pushed in on the lugs.

Now, my Nexus sits in a case (book type, front cover + back cover), and lo! the back cover slips nicely into the gap behind the eye brow, the nexus hangs down over the head unit controls - decent location plus you can flip it up to get at the radio controls if you want!

Looks pretty good - though the reflection on the nexus screen may be a slight issue - but no more than a full install.

So - there you have it... not up there with some of the guru's / manufacturing facility owners on here (seriously, kudos to you guys! ), but not bad.

Just need to get my bluetooth ecu reader, then I can have Torque electronic dash on it!

Yayyyy!

(GF looks on in unapreciative disgust... )
