Exactly what I was thinking - Have been looking for places to stay - Bit more expensive than Bromsgrove!

Depending on people etc, could arrange to meet up on the way?

stick to the Premier Inns / travel lodges around Ulverston, Kendal and even Barrow. Hotels in the lakes can be quite expensive!

I am sure we will get "listed" soon (Don't you have to be really old to be listed!?!?!?!?)

Please put me down for this one.

Coming from the lovely county of Essex, so can anyone advise of any good places to stay. Or will everyone pile in to the Premier Inn (Seen the Kendal one and its more than I want to pay, so may be in the M6 one which is out a bit!!)
You could try the
Traval lodge at Barrow in Furness right next to Asda This is my area I live 10 miles from the car museum.
Whitewater hotel is nice,
Newby Bridge Hotel is also very close.
Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge is a mile down the road from the Museum

Things to do
There is a wild animal park at Dalton in Furness.
Haverthwaite Railway Museum.
beside the other things mentioned previously.
