I better get this one wound up soon so here's another couple of clues to help;

Its all about pulling some weight.

and finally the answer;

HALBATCEDE ROBWAT

All you need to do is figure it out.

First person with the answer gets to buy me a drink

Your too good Steve.
Got it in one. Its a detachable tow bar but this ones almost invisible when detached.
I had the Witter Rover 75 detachable on the missus's diesel but you could still see the receptor and the two plugs when it was detached.

My Jaguar XF also has a Witter detachable but it has the "Quantum Vertical" system. This fits from underneath the receptor, it also has a swivelled 13 pin socket which tucks under the rear valance.

With this in mind I ordered up a new Quantum Vertical system which includes the swivel bracket for the socket.

I cut the old plates off the previous 75 tow bar as they are only 28mm apart and the quantum receptor requires a 60mm gap

I got some spare plate the same thickness and fabricated them to suit, then got them professionally welded. The welding is actually better than that of the original.

This afternoon as I had removed the rear bumper on the car I managed to get the final fabrication done so when I get my rear suspension finished I will fit the tow bar complete with the new 13 pin socket and the finished job will be almost invisible from view when the tow bar is off the car.

I was getting some odd answers to this little bit of fun but your spot on,
now when are you coming up to Scotland to buy me that drink.

Default Concealed detachable Towbar

You may have read my secret project Quantum.

Well the secrets now out, it is a Witter Quantum Vertical Detachable Towbar.
I had the regular 75 Witter detachable on the diesel which I removed when I sold it as I wanted to fit it onto the V6.
My current tow car is the Jaguar XF which has the Witter quantum vertical system. This also includes a swivel down 13 pin socket so when the bar is detached from the car the socket swivels up inside the rear bumper.

I purchased a 2nd quantum system and converted my original bar so it is now exactly like the XF.
I've just started my rear suspension refurb and will be fitting new springs and shocks as I want to be able to tow the caravan if I am attending any 75 meets which involve an overnight stay.
I have finished the fabrication which involved getting new side plates to house the quantum receptor. These were professionally welded which is much stronger than the original welds as they are welded up on both sides of the plates. The left hand plate also has a ring to accept the break a way cable.
Today I trial fitted the main part of the towbar to the car and re hung the back bumper.
I am really pleased as you can only see about 1" of the square receptor below the bumper and the 13 pin socket swivels up completely out of view. I had to cut a small area of the underside of the bumper to allow the socket to swing clear.
As soon as my suspension work is finished I will complete the fitting and wiring, then it will be a trial run with the caravan on tow, I can't wait.

Is there anything that your talents do not allow Jim?

Sounds like a great addition to your 75. Would love to see some photo's when you have finalised and installed this newest addition.
