Generaly it is left to the members to assist each other with little input by mods
Of course if someone is stepping out of line then the mods/admin are tipped off & arrive enmasse-----

Thats why Building regs state that incoming main from street is buried at least 0.5metre below ground
If you have suspended wooden floors then that main should be insulated below floor level
Once above floor level it is extremely sensible to cover ALL water distribution pipework with modern foam insulation available in one metre lengths of sizes to suit each pipe
Storage tanks in the roof space should also have an insulation jacket fitted
All relatively cheap to purchase

In that case Flyer suggest you go around the outside of the house & block off all of the ventilation bricks at grade or damp course level.

Will not hurt for the winter but will give your space below floorboards a chance to receive & retain heat from your bungalow, enough to prevent any freezing or burst pipes below floor level.

If you still own the place in the spring its floor boards up sort things out as previously described, very time consuming ----

Best wishes to all in the frozen north!
Only a few degrees below freezing here at night, mid to high 30sF daily

Must be a seasonal thing that is doing the rounds. Mr Edd made a similar faux pas on ardvark's Auto Box Oil Change thread.
