It flapped up on hinges, when the airbag deflates it is still attached

That particular wheel has three parts that flap in different directions, I think the rover one is one piece but still hinges in the same way

But........... Hinges where...... They just lift out when you release the torx.....Also..... How do they come undone then....

er, i think we are going around in circles a bit, the hinges are inside, the torx screws just hold the whole unit on the wheel.

Maybe someone else can explain it better!

Look closeley at the front face of the airbag & you'll see a faint outline, this is a very weak seam which rips open on deployment & the bag comes through the hole

Poppy, if you still need a badge I got one today, aluminium Rover viking badge with the 6 legs,PM me your address and you can have it. Don't know how you're going to fit it, but obviously don't do it with the air bag live, it might go off.
