Similarly, if you have a 131PS car, and the stolen tune is from a 116PS car, you end up with your car being a 116PS variant.

The only way you can guarantee you are getting what you pay for, is to have the tune installed by a bonafide source, using T4 to upload the software.

Thing that got my attention is the bit about the dodgy solenoid in the gearbox, an update wouldn't sort out a mechanical or electrical problem
IIRC the autobox ECU updates were more concerned with emission control

I hope he didn't charge on top for that the Autobox update only takes a couple of minutes and could have been done as part of the diagnostic check anyway
