On the tourer:

Attached my new 75andZTclub sticker,
PCV filter and seals,
EGR Valve replacement and associated gunk removalfrom inlet manifold.
Checked air filter.. still new.

Next task: 2x 12v runs from battery to rear of car.. and maybe one negative return...

Paul.

Yesterday evening I sorted some more bits on the new to me Tourer.

Fitted the EGR bypass from the old saloon. Simple but that Jubilee clip is a NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-.

Fitted the control unit and dash button for the cruise control update - just the steering wheel controls to do...

Fitted (or not) 'carbon' pollen filter. But being a car that was obviously well looked after in the past it had one that was barely used already! I left it in place for now.

I found, the other day when looking for the fuse for the not working on the remote key, central locking that the owners manual was fully stamped up to 92k (now on 100k) - not mentioned when I bought it!

Still to do - twin horns and fan resistor and get it T4'ed to sort the cruse and get the keys plipping. Then 160 map. :p

Cool

Kept a petrol station in business and filled the Bear up. Then gave her a nice clean.

Default Long Day Friday.

Started early finished late, first time bumper off, New revotec fan fitted, air con. condenser and silicone intercooler hoses fitted.Moved fan control box up near battery,a few scary moments cutting and splicing cables. not quite finishedThere.Got to 9.30 last night and gave up when bonnet would not open when I tested it.Gave car up A167 today and seems to have a bit more power silicon hoses or just me imagining it.
I fell for SWMBO,who assisted at times (thanks Rita)but then when I was asking her to check if I had connected all wiring harness and lights, all ok until checked indicators and she said" right on, no its off oh back on again"thats when I knew time for Forsters.

Rained off today so Sunday or Monday Bonnet opening job

FOLLOWED JULES STEP BY STEP INFORMATION PACK CANT THANK HIM ENOUGH.

More of a what I did this week than today, as been busy.

Fitted a new radiator fan and resistor to replace my old 3 speed that decided to consume itself in smoke and burnt out wiring.

Restored orginal backup to IPK (was messing with toaf and bricked it, now working again)

Tweaked a few settings in the light module for follow home, and in bcu to check safety on window auto up, now to source some pinch strips for the passenger and rear windows.

Cleaned boot out of tools that had fallen into the wheel well, anyone need a 16" alloy, mine are 15s on the car (previous owner had his 16s stolen by a garage who put 15s on in its place before they went belly up in Burnley).
