Lovely and sunny up here this morning, but it's still a few degrees cooler than it should be at this time of the year. Paperwork day for me today - get all the directions, maps (yes, I've got satnav, but don't totally trust it!), booking confirmations etc. all sorted ready for Monday - and prepare in advance for the next Club stocktake which is only a couple of days after I get home - in July
Morning Rod .
Know what you mean Sunday left car rally followed sat .nav. on the way home 10 minutes after leaving I was back where I started

Cheers Rod You must be excited in anticipation of driving down south. I have no experience of pulling a caravan, other than watching it on Top Gear, what a nightmare that was but made for fun Whilst I have been laid up I managed to finish up the plans for our tour of some of Scotland. Getting down to sat nav locations, I will have a road map like yourself as a back up to the Igo and the Garmin. We are hoping for a heat wave

Morning (or afternoon where you are!) Phil - I hope I'm not going to do a Top Gear with my caravan
I use a rather elderly TomTom which is still pretty accurate - I can buy a special trucking/caravanning model which speciically avoids narrow roads, low bridges etc. - but at £300 plus, I'll rely on the combination of satnav and good ole paper map.
There is some free software on the web called 'Tyre' which allows you to plan a route, and then it gives you the facility to follow the entire route on Google street view so that you can see if there are aany danger areas etc.

The Rover pulls the caravan so effortlessly that I have to keep reminding myself that it's there. Even on windy days, the Rover is heavy enough that it doesn't get pulled around by the 'van - this particular Rover doesn't get wagged by its tail - bit of an odd metaphor that

Pretty close Derek - got the car to wash and hoover out, levels and tyre pressures to check ( I always add 3 or 4 psi to the rears when towing) and that's about it - that's tomorrow's job

Saturday - we're off to see Mrs Brown's Boys live show at Newcastle - our daughter got us tickets as a Christmas present - so that's the day taken up.
