First of all make sure the interior door handle is fitted to the door card, along with a new fir tree clip, and the refitted black inner door pull clips. Now wind down the window first, then attach the hook of the inner door release cable to the handle, then pull back the outer cable and refit it to the cable outer ferrule part of the handle. Next carefully align the sill button rod to the chrome escutcheon, feed it through and rest the top edge of the door card upon the spring steel clips at the top edge of the door, and feed though the wiring for the window switches. Look behind the card, and see how close the fir tree clip is to entering the corresponding hole in the door, and adjust the position of the card to allow the best alignment, then engage the top of the door card with the spring clips. Working from top down ensuring the clips are aligned, push the clips back into the door, however you will get to a point where it becomes apparent you can't get the door card to come close enough to the door to get any more clips in, at this point the two large centre clips securing the grab handle need to be pushed home, achieved with a sharp tap with an open palm on the door armrest section directly in front of the clips. It will be possible to now refasten the securing clips at the lower part of the door frame, and manoeuvre the inner door pull to a position where the screw can be refitted, if the central material of the door card pops out from behind the oval escutcheon, a bank card can be used to poke it back in without damage Finally fit the screw securing the side window air duct, the window switch, and the little black cap covering the head of the screw in the door pull Once you have the knack, these are not a bad job to do, the key is patience and not forcing anything Brian |

I took my tourer over to see Phil T4 to get the cruise control working correctly and programme the LSM to the car.
It was nice seeing the car get a clean bill of health apart from the cooling fan needing attention, but thats another job for later this week. Thanks for your help Phil, it was nice meeting you and the tourer drove lovely on the way home with everything working. |

Refitted the door cards after redeeming the water shedder damage inflicted by the previous owners attempts to "repair" the door locks.
No more rattles or pop off door cards now Brian |

removed the hiline sat-nav, disk drive and cd player. I think the car'll go 10mph faster now - that was a pile of heavy old tech.

Been using the V8, as it has been neglected for awhile. The Flying Banana has a epic trip coming up so she is having a nice rest, plus a good wash and a thorough good Nevving.
