Started to replace a broken rear light unit on the tourer. Went to fit the E-Z replacement bolt and clip fittings but can't find the instructions which I understand were emailed to me when I bought the bits many months ago.

I did this.
It was afterwards I realised that 2 months of stem cell recovery wasn't nearly enough time.

Got someone out to fit my new rear spring on the V6, and he kindly fitted my spring protectors at the same time for free. Nice chap for small repairs that don't require Rover knowledge. Will use him again. Then it was more towels and mopping of under the carpet, its drying nicely with this weather. Washed it then, doesn't look like any more water came in, so it was just the blocked drains. Phew! Then polished the old thing-. Just need to get around to doing under the arches like I did the floor and suspension, and its almost there.

The front discs and pads were on the MOT advisory since December so as the weather is nice I decided to fit the Brembo parts I've had in the garage for some weeks. The first side took some time but the second was a breeze. The rears can wait for another day.

Well this week Avril had a new bottom crank pulley, new belts, new oil, filters, coolant, glow plugs, a good clean and fed the leather now its getting warmer.
All I need to do is sort that boot spoiler with a new one, get her 17s resprayed or powder coated and aircon serviced. Oh and a new flexipipe on the exhaust, started to pfft a little today. |

Diesel injector.
Decided to fix my slightly leaking number 3 injector, cdti. Managed after much soaking in de gunking fluid, to get it to rotate. Got the puller on it and finally got the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- out. Found out why it was leaking after a good clean out. Some previous owner before me had been in there and done a half assed job, removed the injector and not removed the sealing washer but just shoved another one on top. Seat now recut and injector refitted, all running great, much smoother and better mpg, should I pull and clean the rest is the question?
If there is, by the way, anyone in my area that can't get an injector out, give me a call, it would be a shame just to use the kit I got just to pull one out. Bill. PE16 area. |
