Finally finished the replacement of the nearside rear suspension arms (upper & lower). I painted them again before fitting and used liberal amounts of cavity wax inside.
Also changed the all three bushes in the trailing arm, rear anti roll bar drop links, rear brake discs and shoes, including replacment brake fluid and bled the brakes. I've also cleaned up the wheel arches and underneath the back end as much as possible and painted with hammerite and covered with rust proofing wax. There wasn't masses of corrosion so hopefully it should all be good for another 195,000. Also gave the 75 an oil & filter change plus an air filter too, and fitted the missing offside front brake duct, (thanks micky). Just got to get the tracking checked now as I've had the trailing arm off. |

Changed the lower engine mount and did an oil change.
After changing the hydramount a couple of week ago, which got rid of the big vibrations, I've since noticed a vast increase of small vibrations and thought that something wasn't right. Got a new lower engine mount from DMGRS and took the old one off today. About time I think! I replaced it with the new one, only took a few minutes Next up the oil change. That won't take long I thought. As much as I tried I couldn't get the sump plug undone. After much struggling in different positions and getting nowhere I decided I needed more leverage, So I came up with this. Socket wrench, spark plug socket and adjustable spanner Ended up laying on the adjustable spanner and putting on all my weight on and there was a crack. I thought the plug was loose but it was my socket cracking I must have got that one in a Xmas cracker!! Anyway, I tried it again with a Halford Advanced socket and the plug finally came loose. Oil changed and all back together and the car is transformed, with a much nicer ride. |

Decided to check why my rear parking sensors had stopped working, only to find out they've somehow managed to fix themselves.

If it was wet or damp when the stopped working then it’s probably the harness behind the bumper.

That's the thing - It was much cooler when they started working than it was when they failed.

Today’s little chore...
The problem this time wasn’t the inner bolt but the outer one has seized in the bush Just got to nip into work now to find a replacement bolt!
