Hope to put this project to bed this weekend.

Keith has kindly agreed to set my car up on Sunday

Great news,

Cannot wait for the "how to" on this. It will put war and peace to shame.

Good luck Raistlin, hoping for a good result on this marathon.

Easy
Buy BBUS
Buy Powerwash Plumbing and Pump
Drill holes! install plumbing and pump, test by triggering alarm, disconnect Pump
Visit knowledgeable T4 chappy
Fit ear plugs
Fit BBUS
Connect Powerwash
Enable BBUS & PW with archaic CD
Enable rest of car options with proper CD
Test
Remove ear plugs

Well, that was a successful trip to Keith's.

BBUS and Powerwash now work perfectly.

NO dreadful screeching from the BBUS either.

In addition, Keith gave VeeKay a thorough shakedown using the T4 functions he's discovered recently and she produced perfect engine figures.

Tip-Top condition by the looks of it.

Looks like a trip to Keith's for you now Pete

So we now have another retrofit that works perfectly and I'd very much like to thank all the club members who did so much work and research and also encouraged me to keep on with it. Also Keith's inspired guesswork which pointed us in the right direction to finish the job.

CHEERS GUYS

Onward and upward, I'm hoping to have the Xenon lights fitted before the New Year as well.

Note to mods:- Can we have the modifications part of our profile page increased please? I've run out of space

Maybe I'm thick - does this mean you cannot fit the BBUS unless you have access to T4? (Or the horn will keep on forever)?

And that you cannot retrofit power wash without BBUS and T4?

I have retrofitted Power Wash and just bought the BBUS from SMC - now what should I do with the BBUS?

Seems like a certain dealer job

Not only do you need access to a Testbook but you also need access to the older T1 Diagnostic CD as the current T4 CD does not support installing BBUS as an option.

Hi Spook,

This was a marathon, many people involved. Reading the thread It was lucky that Kieth still had the old discs from I believe a T1, Again, luckily the T4 could still read the disks and this is where the information / original settings for powerwash set up came from.

Afraid it appears correct that a trip to somebody with a T4 AND set of T1 disc is is reqd (unless you can scource all the equipment required and that is already set up for there use?)

edit.... too late with answer as usual.......

It was good to get this project working 100% OEM and is a testament to the patience and tenacity of club members.

However, with the basic hardware fitted you could set it up to operate either via a switch or automatically when the lights are on and you operate the screen washer. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to do.

Yep as Paul said simply run the PW pump via a switch and use when needed.

How about a novelty switch, something like this
