Any preferences on grease for repacking Brian? Noticed when I had mine off last week to change the brakes that it had started to chew the ABS sensor, so could probably do with a proper strip & repack when I get chance.

Good Commercial. I remember those photo booths.
There are far too few spots worth watching so you do have to appreciate the ones that get it right.

The McLaren Volcano Orange is spectacular. Much more vivid that the MGR shade.
I have had some work done by the local McLaren authorised body shop. They can't get the code to mix the paint. It has to be ordered pre-mixed directly from McLaren. They also do a Volcano Red that is to die for.
McLaren used to be my Lottery dream car. Not any more as the city where I work is full of Chinese remittance boys driving them. My MGs are much more exclusive.

This is what becomes of McLarens here. (And other expensive cars, I have seen Bentleys with Hello Kitty headrest covers ) Note the New Driver placard on the rear.

I used Castrol LM Michael, anything that is marked suitable for wheel bearings will be OK though

Hi John. Instead of using wood, which lets rain through, use some old aluminium sheet and form a cover. I just put the piece I cut from the sheet over the top of the wooden post, and then bend it to fit tightly over the top and down the four sides of the post. I have posts 50 years old in the back garden using this method.

Washed the tourer then changed the air filter and washed the black covers while they were off.

Tomorrow I'll change the fuel filter, not sure when I'll get to do the oil and filter as working from home and social distancing means I won't be getting the engine warm any time soon.

Removed the pollen filter and gave it a vac. Tidied it considerably, enough not to warrant replacement. While the vac was out I shoved the nozzle into the plenum to clear out any dried debris. Very little in there and reassuringly bone dry in there, thanks in no small part to the foam plenum guard in the drivers side and frequent cleaning out of any debris.

It's paining me not driving the car at the moment, all the more because I've recently spent a small fortune on her and she's now in fine form.

Modified some old wheel bolts to allow the new rear discs to be fastened solidly to the rear bearings, then checked them both for runout with a DTI.

Finalised the handbrake adjustment, then fitted the new pads, and discovered the cause of the intermittent knock from the front end, a worn outer baljoint on the track control arm.

Hmm, one thing at a time, and no need to hurry

Washed and waxed the 260 - sparkles like a new pin. Would put a picture on here but don't know how.
