Hmmm. I rather doubt Christopher would approve of you stripping his car down for parts... Interesting idea though.. lmho

Either strip it or let it rot away some where. It must be worth all of £150

Like anything else, it's worth whatever the owner feels its worth.
Christopher obviously values it, uses it and prefers it to much newer cars worth a lot more.

I don't know why you'd rather it was scrapped than used and loved.

I go to a few car shows in the course of a year and the cars that really interest me aren't the GTs or GLX etc. it's the forgotten base models. The L or the popular models, the ones I used to see parked on the street.
I can see a day when our car numbers have dwindled, where the only models you'll see will be Connie's, and to me that would be a shame.

If the owner took an interest he would let members know of it status on a regular basis.

It is a bag of nails and far better examples exist from early production.

I can't see it being scrapped or stripped given the amount of work that has been put into this car over the years by various experts. I gather from reading reports about it that it has been seen on the road. A good point has been made that it is an example of an early base level car. If it does make to a National Event/motor show why not show it off as what it is - to compare it to the high spec models which MGR had on offer to the buying public at the time. I might be on own my own with these views but that's life. Why the pressure now for a decision? I am happy to wait as OVP evolves. Anyway it is the owner who has the final say and not the club.

Why would anyone suggest scrapping/stripping it?

It would seem the car is still in use, its just been taxed for a year! It would appear the owner/user is not very active on here, which is a real shame.

I quite like basic spec cars and so this one really appeals. I also always like very early cars or very late cars, it just makes them that bit more interesting to me.

Its the history of this one which I like and I would really like to own it. If it needs a new home, let me know!

I used to have mixed views about OVP. I see it not as a 'Club' car, merely one purchased under the guise of the Owners Club as a restoration project. Not that there's anything wrong with that at all. Many of the members buy cars to save them from the scrapyard. The car was in a very sorry state and wasn't even good enough for scrap, but it's colourful life gave it a glimmer of hope and certainly it has to be the biggest celebrity Rover 75 still around.
It has had an awful lot of time put into putting a lot of things right and also getting her roadworthy again. These projects take time and cost money.

For clarification, is OVP owned by the Owners' Club or Christopher?
