Last night i fixed the boot lock issue by adjusting the rubber bungs in the boot. Tried to fix the boot leak but the rain washed all the sealant away

Fitted the battery from the 214 onto Frosty, started him up at took him for a run around the block.

His battery is on charge as we speak, as the 214 battery looks somewhat lost in the battery box

That's another good thing about the Freelander Brian - takes a bigger battery than the 75 can accommodate.

Got the battery from the old VW LT35 horsebox we used to have - fits a treat.

They also made a far better job of housing the ECM.

Fitted the radiator fan I refurbished using Dyson DC01 carbon brushes, pleased to say all working fine for £1.79 in parts.
Sorted a leak on the headlamp washer pipe connection which had been losing fluid at a rate of knots.
Fitted new intercooler o rings.
Hopefully found the cause of my erratic outside temperature gauge which would randomly freeze or fry the interior, there was a rubbed through green wire which I presume was shorting or making/breaking, it broke as soon as I moved it, new section spliced in and working well.
A productive few hours!

(As a bonus, when I was searching for the Dyson brushes, I found a source for the part I needed to fix the broken handle on my Dyson, so added Brownie points for that!)

Just got back from a nice trip to Folkestone tho' the reason was sad - it was to attend the funeral of an old friend. He was 20 years older than me but when you are a car enthusiast - don't you find age matters not a jot?

The round trip was just under 350 miles with an overnight stop in Brighton on the way back with my son and DiL. I always find funerals sad but a night out in Brighton at the Geese Pub where they serve the best Sausage & Mash I have ever tasted and beers to die for soon cheered me up.

A fitting way to remember Stan - as he loved his beer and good food - as well as his cars.

If anyone goes to Brighton and wants a good meal the the Geese is worth a try

From memory they have 11 sorts of sausage, 9 different types of mash and 5 different gravies. We had a side orders of mushy peas and red cabbage. Awesome.......

The ZT-T performed in its usual faultless way - an absolute delight on a long journey.

Today was a Cold day, but a rewarding one, various Jobs completed and it turned out to be a true unscheduled toolbox and spanner day...

Initially went to the 'compound' with a view of stripping specific parts from the donor car, when Brian (marinabrian) rang and in conversation mentioned his ZT window mechanism had gone, so 10 minutes later here he is, sockets at hand and Donor gives up another useful part, next here is the son in law (TronXP) who needs a rear passenger door for his 75 (Donor is colour matched) so Brians expertise shows Andy how to swap a door very quickly.... IPK fitted and programmed in to our Eric (Moonstone)

All along I managed to plod along, wings removed car up on 4 supports and all wheels removed, bumper and front slam panel removed... all nicely stored in the garage and all the time had some great company along the way... Oh and No it didn't feel that cold
