When I was taxiing this happened with one of the guys driving a Renault Espace private hire. Same as in the video he didn't have the brains to try to stall it, just let it self destruct.

Boat
I am told that it is an absolutely terrifying experience in a boat . It is however easier to deal with if you have a plan in place of how to deal with it.

Why nobody put into 5th and let the clutch out slowly, is a mystery.

remove the oil filler cap this then vents the crank case to atmospheric pressure, job done.
