What if a mount doesn't have T, P or M, or any other letter?

I've got a new one here with no letter but it does have a part number printed in ink on the side of the casting.

(The one that's still on the car has a P btw.)
Hi Simon.
We are led to believe that because the moulds for the T&P mounts got damaged of lost that the mould for the M mount was /is being used and then colour dots put on the mounts, but that the original compound as been used, open to abuse i would say?

What about the number though? The new one I've got has KKH101372 printed in ink on the casting - Rimmers say that's the number for a 1.8 engine (link).

The one I've taken off my KV6 2.0 has P in the rubber. According to Rimmers the correct part number for that engine should be either KKB101385 or KKH101383 (link).

So the question is - should I use the 1.8 mount KKH101372, or send it back.

Hi Simon.
I would ask for a refund or send it back for one with KKH101383 and a letter P stamped on it as that is the correct lower engine mount for your car. Which according to Rimmer Superseded KKB101385.

If they can not supply one to you with that letter on then i would be fitting one of these below.

Thanks Steve. For some strange reason this one (PFF63-608) is nearly £12 cheaper than the one in your link (PPF63-609) but they're both the same seller.

Hi Simon.
That is because its the small bush not the large one you only need to change the large one to a power flex the original small bushes never go, i have mot seen one anyway, if you do go for the PF one use the centre of of your old mount as it as a nylon sleeve.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Powerflex...l/120998119145

All sellers of the power flex bushes are not allowed to go over the price set by powerflex

What's the best way to get the old one out and the new one in? Hacksaw blade the old one and push the new one in by hand perhaps (assuming the big one is two-piece, same as the little one).

I generally clamp the big end in a vise and use a hole saw to drill out the center rubber portion. Then I remove the blade from a hacksaw frame and reassemble with the blade going through the hole, cut the metal bush shell and knock it out.
Beware though, those poly bushes are a beggar to put in. Lots of lube and strong hands are needed. Hello!
