Default This week

I'm going to the Ford place this week to drop off a few bits for him, as I'll be there for most of the day, I'll go through the stock to check for some brake drums for the Capri. It's an incredible jumble of NOS parts and things are often not where they should be.

Lol, I'm sure the surgeon didn't have this much trouble.

I still cant get the damn thing off Jon, it must be seized to the wheel.

Thanks Mike, I haven't heard anything back from Nick.

I've ordered new discs, calipers, flexi and pads for the front, and shoes, cylinders and flexi for the rear, 203mm drums are like hens teeth.

Thanks Mike, I haven't heard anything back from Nick.

He's in the process of selling his house and it involves an Ex wife and around £500,000 worth of fallout from that. I think there will be some drums there but they'll have been moved because there's a leaking roof over them that I need to mend, my covid thing has stopped me being able to solve. He'll let you know as your name and number is in the book from last week when you called.

Get your tool kit out Mike.

I spoke to a female, she didn't seem very happy, asked me a few question's, one was... who is Mike, and how did I know him.

She wouldn't sound happy, she's the Ex! I am actually doing work on the roof as and when the weather allows.

Oh dear, that would explain the interrogation. I was only phoning for some brake drums, and found myself explaining how I knew you, and how I know Nick.

Not sure if Nick ever got the message, as he never phoned me back.

The L rides again, a brake overhaul with several new parts and she's rolling. As you can see, SWMBO has taken ownership

Lovely day today, does this mean the summer is on its way at last.

Time to get the girls out for a play, I managed to source 5x13" refurbished Ford sports steel wheels for the old girl, you know the ones...
They were also fitted to the Escort and Cortina back in the day, 5J with skinny 165/80 bicycle tyres Lol

She would have had these fitted as standard back in 1979, so she is finally getting back to original, undoing all the boyracer add-ons.

Christmas without the Capri.

She's in for restoration, wings, rear arches, doors, floor, sills, engine bay, and a complete respray, quite a bit of fabrication to do.

We were hoping to have her back before Christmas, but its looking more like February/March.

I sure do miss the old girl.

Capris do rust well, before I bought mine I was shocked at how bad a lot of the ones for sale were, even some of the ones with big asking price had a lot of rust.

Have you managed to source some good front wings? most of the new available are not a good fit.

Be good to see it once all done.
