LOL Yeah, I'm home alone today as the missus & daughter have gone up to Bonny Scotland to see the foal my daughter bought from a studfarm up there, It's too young yet to part from the mother until September so they go twice a month to see it.

I'll make do with pictures of it's progress as the trip up there is too far & way out of my comfort zone for travelling.

It's train drivers hat on today! Liverpool Lime St to Oxford rd Manchester on a class 158.

Indeed it has been a while. Three or four years I would guess, maybe more.

Does seem a while since the Norfolk meets ended too.

I can't blame you for that.

For the outer drum to split I would think it might have left the factory with an imperfection or maybe it has come into hard contact with something as a result of overloading or unbalanced loading at sometime. If any prior repair work has been done it is also possible that it might have been damaged in the process. What I would do Phil is to look online to see if the model has any history of this happening, more so if the drum is made of plastic as it might have a history of a seam splitting ... maybe due to a fault in a particular production run ... or perhaps some other problem which is known to the manufacturer. You never know, there might have been a recall and maybe still an option to have it fixed by the manufacturer.

That aside if the repair is not covered by insurance or warranty I cannot see it being economical to have it repaired given what is involved. Plus if it is a few years old and it has been well-used wear and tear could result in another failure sooner rather than later.

Don't put ideas into my head Jeff. Got in about 7 tonight, a good day out today, I enjoy listening to the pipe bands and silver bands that accompany the marchers from each village pit. There are an awful lot of. groups attend every year from the County Durham area and Yorkshire, Nottingham. Liverpool and even as far as Peterborough.
The organisation of traffic management is useless though. A city the size if Durham has a very small coach parking area, with provision for about 8 at the most, several roads in the city are closed for the day, so it would make sense for one of them to be a designated coach parking area. Same every year though, not enough space, so you get coaches parking on the roadside next to the coach park. The road is narrow and has double yellow lines, but without better provision, there is no alternative

Evening all, a cracking day out today, caught up with a few old faces (And missed a load more unfortunately) Weather was pleasant too.

The Lancaster was its usual wonderful self, and the noise of a 6R4 coming in was epic (He did give it some across the car park!)
