Default Reconditioning a power steering pump

Has anyone reconditioned a power steering pump or had someone do it for them? Where did you get the parts or who did it for you?
My main interest is a pump for a late face lift diesel.
Rimmers have exchange units for cars up to 2004, mine is 2005.
The part number is QVB000330 for late cars and QVB101391 for earlier cars.

I've got a good used one dave, I sold all the new ones I had, the other alternative is to get a private re from 2004 and the rimmers part will work a treat 😆

I have one I got from a member a few years ago but will not know how good it is until it is fitted and currently do not need to fit it.

As a precaution I want to investigate getting a pump reconditioned or doing it myself.

Not sure I have understood you, are you saying the earlier power steering pump will work on the later facelift cars?

There are two types, one has a fixed pipe, one is removable with two 10mm headed bolts, you can fit either variant, the most you will have to do is put a jubilee clip on the hose.

Blimey, are they still going? Back in the '80s l had three PAS boxes from them in quick succession for my P5B. All were stiff to one side or the other & in the end they gave me my money back. I got a secondhand one from a breakers yard, installed it myself & l'm only just planning on replacing that one this year with a NOS box that l bought from James Taylor, the Rover historian.
No reflection on the company, just a story from the past. I'm sure they've learnt a thing or two since then.

that is useful to know, thank you trikey.
I have a pre face lift as a breaker, I'll go take a peek at it as soon as I can. It is currently surrounded by wood
