I think one of the worst things is that the guy turned the gun on himself, the familys will never have an answer to the question . . . . why?

The shooter's mother legally bought the guns. In this case tighter gun laws I'm 100% sure would have prevented it.

I'm not so sure, with an estimated 300 million guns in America if someone is determined enough to carry out this sort of atrocity they don't have to try very hard to get hold of them whether that be legally or illegally.

Trying not bash the USA, but unfortunately the American psyche is 'Might is Right' as exemplified all over the world. Combined with their Constitution written and not meaningfully revised for 250 years, thereby rendering it out of date, the 'right to bear arms' looks set to prevail. Mind you, wish we had a constitution instead of.... well, we all know about that.

The NRA has many very powerful and influential celebrities (or self-regarding idiots, depending on your point of view) on their side and there is an ever present violent underclass that sort of underlines the need for self defence. I wonder if an attack such as this and others had taken place in DC at a school that had a large roll of Senators' children......no, best left alone.

I've been there several times and could easily live there. These attacks are not typical and give a misleading impression of the place. All the same, how many more before common sense prevails?

The Westboro Baptist Church has announced that it is going to picket the funerals of the children, because they see this as gods judgement and think its something worth celebrating. Sick individuals..

For those that dont know this is the 'God hates Fags' church that demonstrated at soldiers funerals.

Dunno whether you've seen the back story to this ?

The "hacker" group Anonymous said if they do, they'll hack their website.
WBC said their site was protected by God and they had nothing to fear.
Within hours the site had been hacked and every church member's name, address and phone number has been released to the public

Yeah i had seen that. Their site had been taken down before, the last time they did this, when the cinema shooting happened.

They arent the only ones to say these things though. Several republicans have said things about there not being enough god in that school, I guess there drumming in the election didnt teach them anything.
