Any updates?

Will be taking the door cards off again sometime next week to change speakers / add some deadening and it'd be nice to do the fronts at the same time...

Just finished two pairs for the front tonight. I have still not tried standard 6.5 speakers in them, but after replacing my first attempt in the drivers doos today with the one below there is a differance with the OEM speakers. I cranked the DD all the way up and although not fantastic sound, there was no tinny vibration.

So here it is.

What you see is what you get.
they fit the Rover speakers nice and snug.
I have drilled holes where there is the least amount of wires etc.
There are wires behind and you will neeed to drill into the doors with a 3mm drill-at own risk.
They are handed and need to be positioned, but seem to fit where they belong.
I will supply screws that worked on mine, if you have beter use them.
The OE screws for the speakers still work.

So if you want one of the first two sets PM me and I will post them Monday/Tuesday. Still not sure about postage fees, so will confirm on Monday.

Regards

Craig

That is what I have used, it illiminates the need to cut holes in the insulation. Bolting it with a M4 machine screw is an option, the holes are M5. The posidrive screws do work, and I don't think they will come loose ,
considering the MDF and insulation is quite absorbant.

Have both sorted out yes. Cost are mainly for posting due to the size and not the weight. I think the backs work as well with what they are. The 18mm rings work without any real cutouts, as the back is flat really. If you would like a set, you are most welocome to get all 4. Postage not been a problem in your case, as we can arrange to collect/meet.

Hi all, I have gone back to the drawing board with the rings for non-OE speakers. The ones I have made so far, work well for the Rover speaker. AS I have said below, I was worried about the sizes for normal 6.5 speakers. The Rover ones fit inside the 162mm ring. The ISO ones need an ID of 140mm and OD of 160mm. even this seem to differ a bit.

So yesterday I went out and bought a set for myself and started making a new set. Basically just cuttting the internal diameter smaller to 140mm, but I may now have to cut a rebate into this lip to have the speaker fit nice and snug-but not sure until I take the card off.

So I still have 2 sets for standard Rover speaker if you need those, PM me and I will send then in the next few days. £24 for the 2 fronts posted.
I will start making the others this week, when I get some time.

Teaching and lower suspension bushes have taken their toll this week

Jakg yours are first, if you are not using the ones I have sent, we can maybe send them on to someone wanting standard ones. No problem either way.

Simon/Ragman and Swordy which do you need ?

Thanks

Craig
