Default Speedo Works but the odometer doesn't in my MGZT180

The trip computer screen and the odometer are not working.
I have tried disconnecting the battery for about half an hour and it works for an hour or so and then it stops again.
I have also tried removing the fuse and re-connecting the fuse and the same thing happens, it works for a while and then stops again.
I have also tried cleaning the earth connect points on the driver's side wall behind the front door, but that hasn't helped.

I would say it's a fault on the unit itself, run a self test on it before and also when it fails and see if there is any difference.

There is a how to on here describing how to access the self test feature, if you need a replacement send Rick sta a pm he will be able to assist.
