I must admit I always quite liked the look of the X Type. Then a friend turned up one day in one he had as a hire car all chuffed with having a Jaguar for the day.

Very disappointed with the interior. This was years before I got my 75 as well but there really is no comparison, the X type dash is dull and actually looks cheap. The 75 is a far better quality finish.

Not a patch on the 75.

Only an opinion of course

Even Jaguar hated the x type thats why it was the first thing to be killed after ford left, plus they are not very reliable and dont drive as nice as a 75.

Personally I think Jaguar have got rid of the better of the two. The 'S' type looks hideous with that sudo grill trying to match the old MKII.
Just my opinion

Jaguar stopped production of the S Type in 2008 when the XF was launched as its replacement. The X Type only ceased production at 31st December 2009.

The S Type was never my favourite Jag, although the facelifted version was a little better.

I always felt the grill should have been the other way up. It would have looked a lot better.

A chap at our office here in Cairo was all chuffed he got himself a 2.5 litre X-type. I asked him if he was aware that it was a Ford Mondeo underneath? I them saw the surprise on his face . I told him that it was still a very nice car before he fainted . I think I shattered something there in our relationship
