rover 75 tourer water leak
Can anybody point me in the direction of how water gets into the wheel well of the tourer. I checked a couple of months ago and the well had a bit of rust and some dampness. It had a small hole so I thought I would block it off. I looked again yesterday and found it with 5" of water - half way up the spare. I have unblocked the small hole temporarily until I can sort.

It could be alsorts to be fair.
If you've got a sunroof it could well be the drains. It is just as likely to be the actual 1/4 glass or the body seems/side brightwork holes. |

I am yet to trace the leaks but the rear side windows can leak. I think a member had an issue around the tailgate hinges.
If you need a How To on how to strip out the rear interior, PM me macafee2 |

I had a similar problem with my tourer last year. Re-sealed the chrome trims but still got water in. Eventually found the problem to be the seam behind the plastic trim where the hinges are. Removed the trim and found the original sealer between the roof panel and the body side had a small gap. Just enough to poke a sewing needle in. I could get it right past the seal. I dug a bit of the seal out and then forced clear silicone into the gap. Up to now I have had no water in the load space area. Also I leave a small container of sea salt in the chubby side as this will draw any moisture from the area. Hope this helps.

It can also be the rear window bond failing. Is there signs of water in the high level brake lamp?

rover 75 tourer water leak
Many thanks to all who gave advice, I will look into all. My problems are only in the wheel well I don't have any dampness in the two pockets so I thought it had to be something more central, none of the carpets are damp underneath. I will come back if I find something.
