I do trust this garage as they have given me years of good treatment and still have one of the former Rover mechanics before they became a Citroen dealership. I think as suggested by earlier posts that they are covering themselves in the event of a problem.
As Mick has many spares, would he be able to supply this garage with any that they would need to do future work on the car since as stated previously, it would be difficult for me to get to and from Herne Bay. At present they pick my car up and bring it back when done, which makes life very easy for me.

I'd imagine that'd be something that Mick and the garage would have to arrange.

Better to make the owner aware up front than to argue about liability after the event.
Took a Morris Minor into a tyre fitters a few years back and they asked me to tighten the wheel nuts myself when the new tyres were fitted "incase we break them"

On a similar note to changing the car because of lack of parts, I worked with a guy who had bought a new Nissan Almera Tino (classy ) and kept it for just three years. He then sold it. Said his only reason for selling it was they had stopped making that model and his main dealer had told him they were no longer able to get parts for it! I suspected a little fib there, dont manufacturers have to guarantee parts supply for 10 years? He bought another new Nissan, a Note from the same dealer.

I ran a Rover P6, as a daily driver, for many years.

It was 25 years old when I bought it, so my Rover 75, at 19 years old, is a relatively new car.

I never really had a problem keeping the P6 on the road.
With the 75/ZT, there the is support of forums, such as this, with enthusiasts and traders. (try that with some other marques ).

As long as it continues, I can't see it not too much of a problem

Hi Mick. That is great news. Can you send me full contact details so that when parts are required I can tell the garage where to obtain them. I love this car and so if you are able to help me to keep it, then that is excellent news.

I now urgently need to know Mick's contact details as one of the bolts has sheared meaning that I need a replacement for it. If anyone has contact details for Mick I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

I always run a M14 tap down the threads before refitting the bolt, it’s amazing how much rust and muck comes out.
