My 17 year old is currently on a learners policy on his little VW Up!
It cost something around £150 for 3 months but it only is valid up until the minute he passes his test, then its void and you have to go back for a quote for full insurance.
He's doing his test tomorrow, fingers crossed he passes but expecting £1600 - £1800 for 1st year insurance

Try Admiral multicar - for both my sons, the actual price they charged for my Rover 75 was around £80-£100 more than I could have paid with another insurer BUT the price for each of my sons cars (Fiat Punto) with both my wife and I listed as drivers - but son as MAIN driver - was around £800, in Greater Manchester.

The best price I had anywhere else was over £2000

So I had no problem paying Admiral that bit more for my car, to save over £1200 for my sons insurance - give it a go !

I am with Peter Best on a classic policy with the 75. The good thing is you get UK and European breakdown cover, I was £166 last year.
